At an invitation-only "Semi Rollout" event on Thursday, September 24, at its dedicated Semi factory in Sparks, Nevada, Tesla said deliveries "start now." The company says the plant is designed to build up to 50,000 Semis per year. Tesla did not disclose pricing or current production volume.

Tesla said the long-range Semi can travel up to 500 miles on a single charge, with a standard version rated at 325 miles.

PepsiCo, DHL and US Foods were among the customers in attendance and were invited on stage, while trucks bearing their logos were displayed outside. PepsiCo received the first Semis in late 2022, built on a lower-volume pilot line.

Fleets expected to receive early production trucks include Nevoya, IMC Logistics, US Foods, Einride, ABF Freight, OK Produce, HMD Trucking, WattEV and DHL Supply Chain, according to Transport Topics. According to the ChargeFlex post, Einride has ordered 500 Semis, WattEV 370 and IMC Logistics 50.

Days before the event, Tesla won its largest Semi order yet: up to 2,500 trucks for a shipper coalition organized by the nonprofit Catalyst Mobility, with deliveries set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.

CEO Elon Musk did not attend in person but appeared in a recorded message.
